Linh Philips, local advocate and foodie behind Sir Rocha Says, has created quite the following and website to learn about some good eats in and around Rochester. From shopping guides, to date night ideas, we're always excited to see where Sir Rocha will go next.

Everyone knows Visit Rochester is the go-to place for tourists as an information center for what's happening in our city. But there's a lot more to them, with the recent redesign on their website and launch of their blog, they are a great place to learn about our area, even if you live here.

This blog launched in 2013 to share a love of Rochester and to celebrate the city and surrounding areas. From stories founder Kate Antoniades has written herself, to her many contributors, We Love Rochester is a great place to learn more and fall in love with our city all over again.

In her own words, founder Maria Gorre says, "Observing a slight lack of enthusiasm about her hometown from those around her, Maria was inspired to create I Heart ROC, an ode to the things that make Rochester a great place to live." I Heart ROC is a series of conversations and interviews she's had with localites on their love for our city.
7. The Rochester Phenomenon

Author of Rochesternomics, Amol Shrikhande, also has a blog. He and his wife (both physicians) moved to Rochester in 2010, because of what they call the Rochester Phenomenon, "We had not discovered the dying industrial region that is portrayed by popular perception. To the contrary, we had uncovered a progressive history, artistic excellence, remarkable ingenuity, elite (suburban) public education, and economic determination." Amol's posts are filled with thoughts, statics, and great reasons why Rochester is the place to be.
