What 40,000 Balloons, 5 Stories, & 3 Minutes Looks Like at Balloon Manor

Balloon-Manor.jpg

Balloon Manor Sibley's, one of our favorite places in the city, has been over taken for the second year in a row by more than 40,000 balloons. In just 4 days, Airigami and a crew of 75 people (and many from across the globe) have created a five-story undersea world called Balloon Manor.

"Dive five stories down and journey through the briny deep world of Atlantis! Discover a mighty pirate ship and its hapless crew battling the giant octopus! Will they be rescued by the Mermaid Queen? You won’t believe your eyes as this tale unfolds..." (Balloon Manor).

When we stopped by on day 2 to see the progress the undersea world was already beginning to take shape.

If you weren't able to make it down while they were creating Balloon Manor the Amazing Air-Filled Under-Sea Adventure, you can watch the entire 4 day production here in just 3 time-lapsed minutes:

Balloon Manor will be on view until 3pm on March 8th. What happens next? Get your tickets for the Popping Party. If all good things must come to an end, why not join in the fun? Word on the street is that some of the balloons will even have prize coupons inside.

Oh and don't miss out on the evening of the 6th, Fifties First Friday: Enchantment Under the Sea. "Dance the night away, or stand awkwardly in a corner while you relive your prom night at our Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. We’ll rock around the Sibley clock with live music by Krypton 88, dance with the Rochester Swing Dance Network, and explore all 5 stories of the Balloon Manor sculpture. Vintage prom costume contest sponsored by Yelp Rochester. Dress in vintage prom attire or as your favorite character from Back the Future and you may win a prize from Yelp. The event is family-friendly. Everyone is welcome. We encourage teens and up to attend." It's FREE!
