The City of Rochester has recently announced this year's Clean Sweep.
For anyone new to Rochester, or unfamiliar with this event, it began in 2006, when the City of Rochester created an initiative to give residents a chance to be a part of the spring cleaning efforts in the city. ANYONE can join, whether as an individual, a group of friends, business, organization, etc.
Clean Sweep: Saturday, May 6th, 8am-12pm
Post-Clean Up Celebration: Red Wings Game at 1:35pm
Join us, the City, and people from all over Rochester at Frontier Field on May 6th. The day starts with a rally where all volunteers receive a free t-shirt, coffee, and light breakfast.
After being assigned to a team (if you aren't a part of one already), you'll be sent out to a specific area, neighborhood, or park, with the necessary tools to do some serious cleaning, meet new people and have fun.
Again this year, volunteers will also receive a ticket to the Red Wings game that afternoon and a voucher for a free hot dog and drink at the game.
If you want to be a part of the positive change in your city, this is a perfect way to jump in and get your hands a little dirty, literally.
NOTE: all of the tools, rakes, shovels, brooms, gloves, etc. are provided by the city, but you're also encouraged to bring your own if you have any.
So, will you join in?
