A HUGE Congratulations goes out to the Rochester Parklet Team - Kathy Turiano (Joe Bean Coffee Roasters), Seth Eshelman (Staach), Ben Woelk (Slow Road Consulting) - and the Rochester community-at-large who have helped raise over $12,000 for what will be our city's first ever parklet!
This is such an amazing feat putting together the brightest minds in our city for the greater good. Let's keep this momentum going.
As we (the Rochesteriat) were traveling throughout Italy this past week, we stumbled across this little parklet built out into the middle of the street for children. It's an entire mini-playground for the little bambinos to enjoy, right in the heart of the city! Notice the addition of greenery that surrounds the "parklet". Cleary, some urban areas have their priorities straight.
Besides that parklet, we saw tons of roads and plazas only open to pedestrians and outdoor seating for restaurants that took up road space. We can't wait for the very first Rochester parket and hope to see more things like this pop up around town.
