Looking for some last minute ideas for that special dad in your life? No need to look any further than our own city. Here are 7 quick ideas, all locally inspired to give you (and dad) a fresh take on an important celebratory day that comes every June.

Black Button Distillery BBD 2 With old-school values that "...pays homage to my grandfather and the world he knew - where real men worked hard and drank real pot distilled whiskey..." you can't argue the familial-inspired business plan that was made, well, for "real men". Not only does Jason Barrett and his growing team cover some impressive tasting notes with distillery tours, courses for sale, and various membership levels, you might also want to get dad to try their sweet-treat of Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup. Furoshiki Kitchen & Cocktails Furoshiki Remember when dad sent you off to college and all you could afford was ramen noodles? Now you can show him that his college fund went to good use as you learned to appreciate the culinary diversity of what this simple noodle can do - try the ramen burger! This is no joke, and Rochester is hardly the first to offer it, where ramen noodles and cocktails become a great combination at this new Park Ave eatery. Website

Mayer Hardware meyer 1 What dad wouldn't want a another tool for his belt or shed? This is always a safe bet for many dads out there, and Mayer Hardware is the place in our city to find it. With rows of tools, paints, keys, and much more, Mayer Hardware is the friendly-neighborhood place where everyone who works there is helpful and best of all, knowledgeable. Take dad into Mayer for the daily lunch special of free coffee and popcorn and he'll immediately be transformed back into time when people actually offered you help and assistance without even asking for it! Pour Coffee Parlor Pour Coffee Is your dad the type that despises all those fancy latte drinks, the mocha chai with a skim whatchama-call-it, and the extra expensive sugary-stuff that make you think you might-as-well pour packets of Splenda down your throat? Then he deserves to be taken to Pour Coffee Parlor where he can get a fresh brewed coffee, called a pour over, without all of that fancy stuff in it. Black coffee at its best - and served right in those simple diner-esque mugs that we've all grown to love. Don't worry, fancy drinks are available too, along with beer, so there is something for everyone here in this off-Park Avenue hit. Roc Brewing Co. Roc Brewing Co If beer is a favorite for dad, why not take him to some place different with a ton of variety - Roc Brewing Co. offers just that. With a whole range of beers on tap, produced from this small but growing microbrewery, everything from "Dude's Brew" to one of its newest installments called "Kahawa-Bunga", this place shows Rochester that we are more than just a staple of Genny Cream Ale. Extra bonus - now is a great time to come and see the brewery pre-inner loop tear down. In just a few months, the city will start work on filling in the inner loop right in front of Roc Brewing, so get your nostalgic hats on and drink one back for the old days. Website
