Where else today, would you be able to buy a 7" record (of 2 exclusive songs) produced by a "supergroup" of extremely talented Rochester musicians - all the while helping our city build from the ground up Rochester's newest, culturally and musically diverse radio station in an attempt to represent the underrepresented here in our community? No where, but WAYO!
The following information was written by Mike Yates, WAYO co-Founder and creator.
WAYO, Rochester's new non-commercial, community-driven radio station, has launched a campaign to raise funds to purchase equipment as well as cover the fixed costs of the first year of operations at wayofm.org/indiegogo2014. Great donor perks are available at all levels of donation including a sticker, pin, t-shirt, mix CDs by Rochester notables, and original art by over thirty talented artists.
One of the most exciting perks is a 7” record being pressed exclusively for the campaign! The record features two songs performed by three incredibly talented musicians-- Jeff Haschmann (formerly of Sports [http://thebandsports.
On the a-side of the 7” is a cover of the astonishingly WAYO-appropriate song by the Flintstones faux-Beatles, The Wayouts!
On the b-side, a cover of a pre-Three Dog Night Danny Hutton’s mid-60s hit “Roses and Rainbows”; a song that was first heard on the Flintstones!
Clips of the 7” can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/
Donate today at wayofm.org/indiegogo2014 to help build something truly special in the Rochester arts community and get Ben, Jeff, and Katie’s record plus all the other awesome perks!
