Here's Your Quick Visual Guide to the 2016 RCR Drink Menu

Wanna know what the Rochester Cocktail Revival is all about? The sexy drinks, of course - COME ON, everyone knows that! 

And according to RCR Creator, Chuck Cerankosky, "...we're not talking just drinks here - we're celebrating cocktails, those ingenious mixtures of spirits so carefully crafted as to intrigue and inspire...Cocktail bars, and the kitchens behind them, are the weave of our city's cultural fabric...let's celebrate craft cocktails. Let's celebrate ourselves. Let's celebrate our City." 

Well said Chuck, we couldn't agree more. So when this year's menu came out, naturally we wanted in. But what are these inspirational libations that RCR speaks of? What do they look like? We wanted to know, and we wanted to show you. Not because we had the tough job of sipping some of these cocktails ourselves (thanks to manager Charles and bartender Abiose of Owl House!), but because who would know what a "PANDA PANDA" looks like?

Above is the full RCR drink menu for 2016. Each cocktail costs $10, and can be enjoyed at any participating RCR host venue listed at the top of the list. Because we were time-crunched we could only get 6 out of the 10 photographed (the dark-shaded ones), and we're asking you to help us out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get pics of the other 4 drinks.

Here's what we got so far:

NEW MATERIAL

This concoction was by far my favorite. With bourbon and Joe Bean kyoto cold brew mixed together, you can't go wrong. Definitely a must-try, especially if you're a grapefruit/citrus fan.

Ingredients: four roses bourbon / muddled grapefruit / lejay cassis / fernet branca / joe bean kyoto cold brew coffee 

DOWN THE LINE

Ingredients: black bottle scotch / lemon juice / domaine de canton ginger / simple syrup / mezcal rinse

WHISPERS ON THE WIND

Want a lighter, refreshing touch to your drink fare? This cucumber'y cocktail will do the trick. 

Ingredients: hendricks gin / effen vodka / aperol / lillet blanc / cucumber

A SHRUBBERY

This is the RCR take on an old 1980's London style spring cocktail called a bramble, and the bramble bush is credited in the origin of the drink's name. RCR aptly named this one "A SHRUBBERY", and you can watch its "trickle down effect" in gif form at the end of this post. Oh and don't overlook the fact that this includes a favorite local libation - Black Button Citrus Gin.

Ingredients: black button citrus gin / lemon juice / simple syrup / lejay cassis float

Ingredients: angostura white oak rum / yellow chartreuse domaine de canton ginger / lime / fee bros. o.f. bitters / basil

Something that includes sugar cubes, bourbon, and lemon peel? Yes. Go for it! 

Ingredients: elijah craig small batch bourbon / demerara sugar / fee bros. black walnut bitters / lemon peel
