Every summer the Rochester Community Players present a Shakespeare play in Highland Park Bowl in July. This year they will be performing Romeo & Juliet from July 15th - 30th. Here are 4 reasons you NEED TO GO:

1. It's FREE

Theatrical performances almost always require an admission ticket, but not here - it's FREE! Bring friends, food, blankets or chairs, and enjoy an evening of theater under the stars. You can also grab something to eat or drink at their concessions stand.

2. It's Not Your Ol' School Romeo

According to the Facebook Page, "This summer’s production, directed by WallByrd Theatre Founder Virginia Monte, will interpret one of the Bard’s best-loved plays in a style drawing from anime, video games and rock music. Monte has brought on board Anne Wilcox, who teaches dance at the University of Rochester, and Alec Barbour, a fight director teaching at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, to provide dance and combat choreography."

3. Two Performances will be ASL Interpreted

If you've never been to Highland Bowl, you don't know what you're missing! Everyone has an incredible view as the "bowl" shaped lawn provides unobscured views from every location, and it's tucked away so you feel like you're in a private auditorium.

Highland Bowl is also the locale for the Highland Bowl Concert Series featuring the Tedeschi Trucks Band on July 8th, and will also be the spot for the Monroe County Movies in the Park - Star Wars: The Force Awakens on August 2nd.

Romeo & Juliet Performances:
