Quite a few months back, we were invited to take a sneak peek at a production in the works by some of our most creative friends at the Rochester Young Professionals. If you don't know anything about RYP, or if you have some skewed perception that it is simply a social hook-up place for a clicky group of friends, you might want to take notice - the group is making some big things happen to keep us all informed on downtown's recent development.
Under the Board leadership of Brad Flower, the Creative Direction of Makeway's Greg Cunneyworth (above right), with the help of the ever-amazing photography of Stephen S. Reardon and a coordinated ad campaign (you may have seen the full-page spread in last week's CITY Newspaper) - a new 3-part series of events is about to commence called "Working for Rochester". Did you know that some of the biggest projects happening in downtown are being aggressively lead by Young Professionals?
Working for Rochester is billed as a Community Partner Event Series, and the first one takes place this Wednesday, July 1st, at the Chase Tower. Hosted by Gallina Development Corp., YP developers Lauren Gallina and Patrick Dutton along with RYP Board members will talk about downtown's growth, construction plans for the Chase Tower, and answer questions on how YOU can be a part of the renaissance going on.
This event will offer attendees a first-hand look inside the beautiful Chase Tower, offer a chance to network with some key players in our city's revival, and of course, give you a chance to take in the incredible views.
Come check out how the creative community in Rochester is transforming our city - it's much more than just an outer application of cover-up. More importantly, come with an open mind and learn how YOU can get involved. With light fare, a cash-bar, samples from Three Heads Brewing and Black Button Distilling, incredible views, a chance to network and tour the space before it's even built out, there is a lot to gain from this first event of a 3-part series. Remember, use the #Work4Roc to join in on the discussion.
Event Details: July 1st @ Chase Tower, 6-8:30pm Facebook Event Page
I encourage every Young Professional to get involved in at least one YP group. As a former Board member of RYP, I know how valuable the relationships are that you make when you take the time to get involved. Check out more @theRochesteriat or Facebook.
