Is anybody else thinking to themselves - it's almost October, where did our summer go? Undeniably, well at least to those of us who actually liked the heat, it's been an incredibly beautiful summer. With so many warm, dry, sunny days, for a brief minute I almost thought we were living in Southern California.
To celebrate and keep this feeling going as the temperature drops, here's a quick look back at our summer (well, actually starting in late spring) in pictures.
Turns out we have a Caribbean Island-looking reservoir at the top of Highland Park...
...and incredible local-but-internationally-known artists (above, Range) that put their stamp of love on everything they do.
...and there's always unmatched beauty to be seen in the heart of the city at the George Eastman Museum grounds.
Then there are the many views that are changing quite rapidly here in the city from up high...
...to the ground level work that is being done on the streets...work by Shawn Dunwoody and crew...
...and then there's everywhere in between leaving no area untouched. Here, a collaboration piece by Cordell Cordaro and Nate Hodge graces a wall high up in The Metropolitan Rochester as it overlooks our dynamic city.
The night skyline is becoming a bit brighter and flashier these days...
...and like I started this post with food, there's never any shortage of amazing places to check out around our city. Here, Chef Pasquale of Amore by Wegmans prepares fresh pasta for a class of hungry learners.
And lastly, our summer wrap-up wouldn't be complete without mentioning yet another successful round of Movies with a Downtown View's at the MLK Jr. Memorial Park. Beautiful weather, amazing sponsors, and two great movie showings provided unforgettable nights in our city.
Make sure to check out our friend, foodie, and entrepreneur, Casey Bowker, as he explores the Rochester area's best places to eat and drink in his new show, ROConnoisseur.
