If you've seen something different cruising around Rochester lately, no you don't need to have your eyes checked. The team at the Rochesteriat has a new family member, we'd like to introduce... Rocky, our new Piaggio Typhoon.
As we began planning the exciting task of creating a City Guide for Rochester a couple of years ago, we discussed ideas to make this happen. We wanted to go door to door, meet the businesses of ROC, take pictures, and share our travels with you. And instead of having to get into our car every time we want to go five minutes down the road, now we have a better option. What better way to do this than with an URBAN form of transportation - a scooter!
When you travel to large cities, there's no shortage of scooters, vespas, and motorcycles.
On a recent trip to Brooklyn, we were amazing to see just how many Vespas and scooters were EVERYWHERE. It's not as common here. But why?
Now, if you've been following us for any length of time you probably know one thing: we're all about the CITY of Rochester. But, sometimes.... we have to leave the city. This is where Country Rode Motowerks comes in - serving the needs of Greater Rochester for Motorcycles and SCOOTERS!
We're excited to announce our partnership with Country Rode Motowerks for the next two years while we are geared up to gather the most comprehensive Rochester City Guide.
First step: brand the bike!
Second step: name the bike!
We'll call him "Rocky" - partly because ROC is in the name, and partly because he's tough, gritty, and urban - much like the 1970's fictional boxing star, Rocky Balboa.
Third step: stay tuned.
