Christmas is long gone, winter seems to be gone too. Lately, red hearts and roses have taken over and a lot of people are looking for great gifts and date night ideas. Whether you celebrate it or not, here are some great things to do during the Valentine's season:

Short Month Market

Whether you're shopping for your Valentine, someone's birthday, planning way ahead for Mother's Day or for just no reason at all, you can't deny that gathering over 30 amazing artists and vendors from all over Rochester won't be awesome. This first annual Festival from Short Month Market boasts:

"If you come, you'll find artisan food, photography, coffee, bike builders, jewelry, textiles and more!" (via the website).

To see a list of the vendors who've signed up, head to the Facebook page. You'll find this market on Saturday, February 6th from 10am-5pm @ 44 Elton Street in NOTA.

Valentine's Day Weekend at College Town:

Make no mistake - College Town has become a growing part of the community holding fun events throughout the year. This one will be no different. With an array of events, sales, and deals happening from February 11th through the 14th, the most notable event will be Fire & Ice on Saturday, February 13th from 3-5pm. According to College Town:

"Check out the ice sculptures and a live demo, take your photo in the ice chair for two, and guess the number of hearts frozen inside for a chance to win a $100 College Town gift card... Sculptures will be in various locations. Warm up by the fire pits in the commons."

South Wedge in Love

The South Wedge will be celebrating the LOVE on Thursday, February 11th from 5-9pm. A few businesses are joining together for a fun night to be with the one you love or a group of friends (Galentine's Day anyone?). Enjoy Little Button Craft & Press, Hedonist Artisan Ice Cream, Harry G's New York Deli, Abode, and Zak's Ave. See what each place is offering on Facebook.

Valentine Schmalentine

"Relationships are complicated. Enjoying ART doesn’t have to be."

After MAG Museum of the Dead turned out to be a smashing success, the Memorial Art Gallery has once again pulled together a 21 + over event sure to be a hit. "Spend your night on a scavenger hunt of over 5,000 years of MAG’s World Art, tell your sob stories and seek advice from our personalized listeners*, participate in the Brainery’s First Person Singular storytelling with Woody Battaglia and Sarah Reedy, and more!" Find all the details online for Friday, February 12th.

Dutch Connection

If you're aching for Spring you won't have to head far starting Friday, February 12th. The George Eastman Museum is about to be overtaken by some beautiful blooms.

"Beat the winter doldrums with the museum’s annual display of flowers, including tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, amaryllis, clivias, begonias, primroses, and azaleas. Hundreds of blooms fill areas of the historic mansion with the scent and color of spring."

Dutch Connection runs through February 28th!

February Brainery Bazaar

Every month, Rochester Brainery holds a Brainery Bazaar, showcasing local artists and their goods. February will not disappoint with over 30 artists setting up shop - the perfect place to do some last minute shopping. The Bazaar runs 11am-5pm on Saturday, February 13th. Find out which artists will be there on the Facebook page.

Diptych: A Valentine's Day Group Show

As a husband-wife team, we love seeing other talented couples throughout the city working together to follow their dreams. Makers Gallery and Studio is bringing together artists who also happen to be couples during this show starting on Valentine's Day:

"From February 14th - March 13th we are celebrating two artists working together, through life and art. Each of the six couples has created a diptych (a work made up of two matching parts) for this month long show."

Check out the Facebook page for a list of collaborate artists/couples.

This month is full of events and things to do. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying the city - get out and enjoy! See more of what the Rochesteriat is up to on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
